We are a reality where History and Innovation intertwine to achieve excellence. Born in Turin, the home of the motor vehicles, we have been giving shape for over 40 years to ideas developed by designers and style centres, in the constant search for modern solutions to be proposed to car manufacturers all over the world. La Loggia plant, located on three linked production units, has been the historical headquarters of Cecomp spa since 1978.

  • Centralised structures at CECOMP and Group level: commercial, research and development, production planning, purchasing, administration, finance and control, quality and environmental assurance, personnel and information systems.
  • Production Unit: production is carried out for design, showcar, style models and prototypes, tool and mould construction (prototype and production).
  • The plant has obtained IATF16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications attesting to production quality standards as well as ISO 14001:2015 for environmental certification.
  • The production site specialises in both the design and manufacture of models, one-offs, prototypes as well as C.N.C. machining, moulds and tooling.

Cecomp spa

MONCALIERI (Turin) – Italy

In 2014, Cecomp Spa, following the acquisition of Model Master Spa (main competitor among the coachbuilders in the area) took over both the three production plants and further specific know-how on prototype processes.

  • Specialised production site for prototype components and pre-series production.
  • Potential production capacity to support low-volume production.
  • The plant has obtained IATF16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications attesting to production quality standards.

Cecomp spa

PIOBESI T.se (Turin) – Italy

The Piobesi plant, acquired and completely renovated in 2016, was named after Giovanni Forneris, founder of Cecomp in 1978. It incorporates a high level of technology and innovation according to the canons of «Industry 4.0».

  • Decentralised structures: logistics, quality control, production planning and area systems.
  • Production site concentrating all processes for low-volume production of complex aluminium components
  • Automated stapling, welding and milling lines for stamped and extruded aluminium components.
  • The plant has obtained IATF16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications attesting to production quality standards as well as ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification.

Cecomp Doo

Mirna Pec (Novo Mesto) - Slovenia

Covered surface area: 19.000 sqm.

Cecomp Doo, located in Mirna Peč in Slovenia, was established and inaugurated in 2013 to initially respond to the needs of the Renault Group for the series production of certain vehicles such as the Twingo and the electric Smart EV.

  • Headquarters structures: management, production planning and scheduling, purchasing, administration and control, personnel, quality control and area systems.
  • The production unit specialises in high-volume series production of stamped and assembled parts.
  • It is currently the largest component moulding plant in Slovenia.
  • The plant is IATF 16949:2016 certified, attesting to its production quality standards.

Seltap spa

MONCALIERI (Turin) – Italy

Covered surface area: 2.000 sqm.

Seltap was established in 2008 and consists of two divisions: upholstery and additive manufacturing.

  • Headquarters structures: management, production planning, purchasing and logistics.
  • The upholstery division deals with the development of prototypes, limited series production, customisation and restoration for the automotive, nautical, aviation, classic car restoration and interior design sectors.
  • The additive manufacturing division (added from May 2020): deals with design, prototype development as well as additive manufacturing using the most modern and innovative 3D printing technologies available.
  • The plant has obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Subsidiaries

Icona was founded in Italy in 2010 to combine design, engineering, modelling, and prototyping skills in order to develop style models, show cars and prototypes. Today it has offices in Turin, Shanghai and Los Angeles.

Microlino Italia Srl is the company set up at the end of 2020 for the production and distribution of the new all-electric car model called “Microlino”. It is based in La Loggia in two production plants, adjacent to the Cecomp spa plant.

In the main plant (about 5,000 sqm) are the centralised structures (management, production planning, purchasing and logistics) as well as the production lines (assembly, finishing, painting); in a second, detached plant (about 3,500 sqm) is the functional area dedicated to quality control of the finished cars and the storage of the cars ready for shipment to end customers.

Historical background

CECOMP was founded in 1978, developing «handcrafted» models and prototypes.
The group experienced continuous growth with an expansion of its offerings
(design, electric cars and mass production) and industrial footprint (Slovenia, Moncalieri, Piobesi).

 

1978

Founded by Giovanni Forneris, CECOMP Srl, (CENTRO ESPERIENZE COSTRUZIONE MODELLI e PROTOTIPI - EXPERIENCE CENTRE for MODEL and PROTOTYPES CONSTRUCTION) was established as a coachbuilder to develop models and prototypes.

Since 1988

The company began a path of growth and diversification aimed at vehicle development and industrialisation.

Since 1994

CECOMP expands into foreign markets, especially into Japan and soon after into the Far East.

2004

Acquisition of Martelleria A.BA, specialising in moulds, parts and prototype sub-assemblies.

2008

CECOMP boosts production capacity with a new line of business.
Seltap Srl is established, dedicated to the upholstery business.

2009

The Forneris family acquires 100% of CECOMP Spa.
Start of the BlueCar Project with Bollorè, for the production of electric cars.

2010

ICONA STC is established, specialising in design, styling models, show cars and engineering, with a focus on the Chinese market.

2012-2013

Construction of a new production plant in Slovenia, with the establishment of the subsidiary CECOMP Doo.

2014

Acquisition of Model Master, the main competitor among coachbuilders in the area, with specific know-how on prototype phases.

2015-2016

Acquisition and start of restructuring of the Piobesi (TO) plant for the series production of chassis components for premium cars.

2018-2019

Expansion of the Moncalieri and La Loggia production plants.

2019-2020

Expansion of the production plant in Slovenia: doubling of surface area and acquisition of new production facilities.

2020

Through subsidiary Seltap, acquisition of the Skorpion Engineering Srl business unit operating in additive manufacturing.

2020-2021

Development and industrialisation for Micro Mobility System, a Swiss group, of the L7e 'Microlino' quadricycle with strong features.
